MORE ABOUT ME

Michelle Reidy B.ED PGD.Ed

Neurodevelopmental Therapist

The Regulated Kids Coach

I started training as a Primary School teacher in 2004, I recieved an Hons Degree in 2008. I have been working in a Gaelscoil since then in a variety of class levels but was always drawn to learning support and teaching those with additional educational challenges. I love to learn and have completed a multitued of courses over the years the main ones being the Post Graduate Diploma in Educational Leadership & Management in NUI Maynooth in 2015, the Certificate in Sensory & Neurodevelopmental Therapy in 2025 and the Diploma in Sensory & Neurodevelopmental Therapy in 2026.

My love of movement started as a child when I started gymnastics, I trained and competed until my teens and then started coaching which I still do today at my kids club Ninja Fitness. I have always loved seeing how movement can help children to regulate themselves and change how they are feeling. A child comes to class in a bad mood, unwilling to participate at first, after whatever has happened earlier in the day but then the fun starts and after 60 minutes of action they skip home. The stress is gone, their cup is empty.

I believe in the power of play, creating specific movement patterns and rhythmic movement can transform children's lives, because I've seen it happen. All therapy is tailored for each unique individual and is suitable for children from birth to adolescence.

Here, you will find a nurturing environment designed to address sensory processing challenges, neurological delays, and conditions such as ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and Autism. Our unique play-based approach integrates rhythmic movement therapy and the INPP method, ensuring that every child receives personalized attention and care.

Neurodevelopmental Therapy in Practice

The process

Discovery Call

Book a discovery call to see if this therapy is the right fit for your child and if I am the right Therapist for you.

Questionnaire

I will send you a link to fill out some information about your child;

  • their pre-birth and birth history which can give insight into the underlying cause for their challenges.

  • their milestones; did they meet them at the appropriate times this will assist in identifying the gaps in their development.

  • their strengths & challenges in a variety of areas; social & emotional, motor skills, life skills and academic attainment so far.

  • their familial history; certain conditions have a genetic component and it can be helpful to know if there is a family history.

Schedule an Appointment

  • Once forms are returned an appointment can be scheduled

  • For children under 7 years an initial appointment can take 45mins -1.5hrs

  • For children over 7 years a full assessment can be conducted which can take up to 2 hours.

  • Appointments are play based and stress free for children; regulation strategies are used throughout. If there are any signs of over stimulation or distress the assessment will come to a natural conclusion and the fee charged will reflect what occurred on the day not what the intent was. This therapy is child centered.

First Appointment or Assessment

  • The child and their adult will be welcomed into the therapy space. Please show the child pictures of the room here ahead of time to make them curious and at ease.

  • It is hands on therapy so a good rapport and trust is vital for  consent.

  • The session will go at the child's pace with play, games, different exercises and I shall make notes on my laptop throughout.

  • I shall assess primitive reflexes, sensory challenges and occular inefficiencies.

  • The child will be given play or exploration breaks throughout.

  • I will be creating a programme for you to deliver at home and will give you the details at the end of the appointment.

  • Feedback can be provided at the session if it is suitable or by phone.

The programme

  • Your will be given a programme to follow daily with detailed instructions and videos.

  • You can request feedback and check in whenever you have an questions.

Follow Up

  • You will visit for follow up appointments every 6 weeks to assess how your programme is developing and progressing.

  • The programme will be adjusted and changes can be incorporated into the new daily routine.

The process continues until the programme is completed and the reflexes have integrated and the behaviours of concern have improved.

A neurodevelopmental Therapy (NDT) programme strengthens the pathways that send messages around the brain.

It takes at least 6 weeks to create and stength each pathway and we should only work on one or two pathways at a time.

A NDT programme only takes 5-10 minutes daily to deliver but can take between 18 and 24 months to complete.

You must be willing to commit.
